Woman found hanging, dowry death suspected

In an alleged dowry death, a woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan in Rohi village under Jewar area in the district, police said here today.

The victim, identified as Anju, was married to Vinay Singh of the Rohi village five years ago, they said.

The deceased's father Pratap Singh has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws, who were absconding, for allegedly killing her for want of dowry.

An FIR has been registered and further investigations were on, police added.
