Woman gang-raped by bus driver, aide

A bus driver and his aide allegedly gang-raped a 36-year-old woman at gunpoint after offering her a lift in Dharuhera area, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday evening when the woman, a resident of Dharuhera, was returning home from a nearby market. She was offered lift by Laxman of neighbouring Garhi Alawalpur village on his bus, police said.

The bus was then taken to a secluded place where Lazman and his associate allegedly raped her at gunpoint, the woman said in her complaint, adding that they then deserted her.

Police have filed a case and arrested Laxman. Efforts were on to apprehend his accomplice, said a police officer.
 

The woman has been sent for a medical examination, the officer added.
