Woman gangraped by neighbours in UP

A 30-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by three of her neighbours in Sitapur village in Bhadrakali area here, police said today.

According to the complaint, the three accused, identified as Shahid, Irshad and Mohammed Gul, last night broke into the victim's house and raped her, police said.

All three lived in the same neighbourhood and have fled since the incident, they said.

The woman has been sent for medical examination and an FIR registered in the case, they said.

Meanwhile, supporters of the accused met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) K B Singh and claimed that the three were being falsely implicated over past enmity, police said.
