Woman hacked to death

A 32-year-old woman was hacked to death in Haliapur village in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, police said today.

The incident happened when Shyama Devi was sleeping outside her house last night, they said adding a man attacked her with an axe killing her on the spot.

A massive hunt had been launched to nab the attacker, police said.

Old enmity was believed to be the reason behind the gruesome murder, they said.
