A 21-year-old woman has allegedly committed suicide after facing sexual harassment by a youth, police said today.
The victim allegedly hanged herself in Jhunjhala area of neighbouring Shamli district yesterday.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim's parents, she had been sexually harassed by her neighbour 23-year-old Joni, said Circle officer Anand Verma.
Four months ago the woman was married and she recently came to her parent's house, Verma said.
The irate people thrashed the accused Joni and handed him over to the police, who had arrested him for abatement of suicide of the woman, the CO said.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
