A woman was killed while her husband and four-year-old child were seriously injured when their car collided head on with a 10-wheel truck just outside Burdwan city today, the police said.
The body of the woman identified as Prabeshika Majumdar has been severed into three parts under the impact of the collision that occurred at Alisha mouza.
Her child who lost one hand in the accident and husband Nityananda Majumdar were admitted to hospital in a serious condition, police said.
The accident took place when the family was returning home from Gangpur, a few kilometre away from Burdwan.
