: Six people, including the father and brother of a 22-year-old woman were arrested Monday for allegedly killing her as she had married a man from a different caste in Mancherial district of Telangana, police said.

Both Anuradha and A Laxman had got married here during the first week of this month as her parents refused to let her marry him, the police said.

On Saturday night, her parents forcibly took her away from Laxman's house, the police said.

Following this, Laxman lodged a complaint.

Based on the complaint, police said her father, brother and some relatives were taken into custody for questioning on Sunday.

During interrogation, the relatives confessed to have fatally beaten her up, burned her body and disposed of the remains in a water body, they said.

Laxman used to work as a computer operator while Anuradha was a diploma-holder in education.

Earlier, a video purportedly showing P Anuradha saying she wanted to live with Laxman and that her parents would be responsible if anything happened to him or her, went viral.

She had also purportedly said the police should take cognisance of the video.
