Woman Sarpanch's husband arrested for taking bribe

A woman Sarpanch's husband was today nabbed for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 5000 from a villager in the district.

The accused, Hanuman Prasad, husband of Roopwas Sarpanch Premlata Gupta had allegedly demanded the bribe from one Govind Singh for some office related work, Anti Corruption Bureau officals said.

After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused was held while accepting the bribe, they said.

The role of the Sarpach is also being examined, the officials added.
