Woman set ablaze by husband

A 40-year-old woman suffered serious burn injuries when her husband allegedly set her on fire in Kolasib district of Mizoram, police said today.

R Rualchhana (47) in an inebriated state doused his wife Lalrinsangi with kerosene before setting her on fire after an altercation on Friday.

Lalrinsangi was rushed to Kolasib District Hospital and later referred to the Aizawl Civil Hospital in a serious condition.

The man has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody, they said.
