Woman set afire by husband in Haryana

A woman was killed after her husband set her afire following a quarrel at Naya Gaon Jatonwala village, police said today.

Ramesh Sharma allegedly set ablaze his wife Inder Mani (35) after sprinkling kerosene on her on May 30 following domestic discord.

Mani was brought to the local civil hospital in a critical condition from where the doctors referred her to PGIMS, Rohtak, police said, adding that she succumbed to burn injuries last night.

Police have registered a case of murder against Ramesh on a complaint filed by her brother Om Prakash Sharma, a resident of Jatwara village of Jhajjar district.
 

Efforts were on to arrest Ramesh, police said.
