Woman, six-month-old daughter killed in road mishap

A woman and her six-month-old daughter were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck on Nanpara-Lakhimpur road here this morning.

Rita (30) and her daughter was killed while her brother-in-law suffered serious injuries in the accident at Gudh crossing under Motipur police station area, police said.

The victims were on their way to a hospital when they met with the accident, they said, adding the truck driver fled from the scene leaving the vehicle behind.

The injured has been admitted to district hospital, Lakhimpur, they added.
