A 30-year-old woman and her three children died in a house fire in Ladpura village here but the victim's family has alleged that she was burnt for dowry, police said today.
The victims have been identified as -- Beeta (30), and her three children Anjali (6), Monu (5) and Kaalu (4) who were burnt in an incident that took place last evening, they said.
Police officials who reached the spot after the incident have not been able to ascertain whether the death was a suicide attempt or a case of dowry death.

The family members of Beeta, however claim this to be a case of murder and have registered an FIR against the victim's husband Sanjay and four other members of his family, a police spokesperson said.
The victim's brother alleged that Beeta who had been married to Sanjay for the past seven years was continually harassed over demands for dowry, he said.
Bhawanpur Station House Officer (SHO), Vidhyantal Tiwari said the bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem and further action would be taken after preliminary investigations.
Beeta's husband and in-laws were absconding and police is on a look out for them, police said.
