A 32-year-old unmarried woman, who had set herself afire on Wednesday following a quarrel with her father, died here in Midnapore East district today, police said.
Bratati Das, a schoolteacher by profession, died on way to Tamluk from a Kolkata hospital.
Das, a resident of Chandipur in the district, had a quarrel with her father on November 12 over the issue that she could not be married off because of her dark complexion, the police said.
Following this, she poured kerosene and set herself on fire.
She was first taken to a local hospital and then to a hospital in Kolkata. She died while being taken back to a hospital in Tamluk.
