: Women officials will maintain eight polling booths formed exclusively for women in Erode district in the May 16 assembly election.
Election officials said they had selected eight polling stations, one each in eight constituencies of the district, as per the instruction of Tamilnadu Election Commission, which would be maintained by the women.
In such booths, the polling officer and other polling assistants will be women Government employees.
In the district there are eight Assembly segments and 2,114 polling booths would be formed.
