Press Trust of India Mangaluru
The Central Muslim Committee of undivided Dakshina Kannada district and other Muslim organisations would jointly hold a mega women's convention here on December 20 to protect Shariat law, Jamaat e Islami Mangaluru Unit member Shamira Jahan said today. Talking to reporters here, Jahan said Talaq was being projected in the wrong way for political benefits and the convention was being organised as part of the protests against the wrong portrayal.

The attempt of the Central Government to introduce uniform civil code indicated its anti-Muslim stance she alleged saying this was a conspiracy hatched by communal powers which were against other cultures.

There were various laws related to divorce, alimony and marriage which were rights given by the Constitution.

Despitethis, the central government in the name of misuse of tripleTalaq is trying to implement the Uniform Civil Code. All Muslim women should raise their voice against this, Jahansaid.
