Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Armed Forces Preparatory Academy (BBSBAFA) today launched a women wing for preparing girls to join the Armed forces.
Lt Gen Surinder Singh, GOC-in-C Western Command, inaugurated the facility.
BBSBAFA is set up by the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee through its trust - BBSB Education Trust.
SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar said the Committee is running many educational institutions in and outside Punjab.
"Acceding to the demands of the parents to have a girls' wing in the Academy, it was decided to start it from the current session with a batch of 40 girls," he said.
