Work on North Cargo berth II to start in 2016

: Construction of north cargo berth - II at VOC Port here to handle coal will start in the year 2016 at an estimated cost of 400 crore, Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and HighwaysPon Radhakrishnan said here today.

He stated this while flagging off a 'Swachh Bharat' awareness procession and Swachh Bharat Mass Cleaning Drive.

Later speaking to reporters he said more than eight crore toilets had been built all over the country ever since the Swacch Bharat Mission was launched nationwide as a national movement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2 2014.

VOC Port has allotted Rs 78 lakh under its Community Social Responsibility programme for construction of public toilets, he said.
