World Bank satisfied with Palle Pragathi prog: Telangana govt

The Telangana government said that a World Bank team has expressed satisfaction on the progress of its 'Palle Pragathi' programme aimed at development of backward mandals of the state.

Shobha Shetty, Sector Manager, Rural Development in the South Asian region of the World Bank, and her colleagues met Telangana Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao here today and discussed the programme being implemented with the Bank's funding, a government release said.

The minister explained to them that the government was aiming to make Telangana villages a role model for the country, it said.

The World Bank team in turn promised to extend cooperation for all round development of the state, it added.
