A three-day "Akhila Bharata Yakshagana Bayalata Sahitya Sammelana" (all India conference on Yakshagana literature) would be held in Puttur near here from January 2.
The event, being jointly organised by the Karnataka Samskritika Kala Prathisthana, Bengaluru and the Department of Kannada and Culture, would be conducted in the premises of the Mahalingeshwar temple, a release here said.
Moodambailu C Gopalakrishna Shastry would preside over the event in which different forms of Yakshagana would be performed by various schools.

Sunday's events would take off with a 'talamaddale' (an ancient form of art in coastal Karnataka and northern Kerala) followed by an interaction with the president of the conference.
As many as 21 Yakshagana artistes would be felicitated during the event. Writer Taltaje Vasanth Kumara would deliver the valedictory address, the release said.
