Youth arrested for matricide

A youth who allegedly

murdered his mother for not transferring her house in his name was arrested today, police said.

The woman was living alone in a house. Her son Velmurgan had been frequently quarreling with her to transfer the house, which was in her name, to him.

Velmurugan allegedly hacked his mother when she was working in a field, killing her on the spot yesterday, police said.
