Youth arrested for rape bid on 78-year-old woman

A youth was arrested today for allegedly trying to rape an elderly woman here when she had gone to attend the nature's call.

Avtar Singh, a resident of Dadheri village, attempted to sexually assault the 78-year-old of the same village yesterday, police said.

An FIR under relevant Sections of the IPC was lodged against him at the Mandi Gobindgarh police station on a complaint by victim's relative, they said.
