Youth booked for attempting to rape

A case has been registered against a youth for allegedly trying to rape a minor girl, police said today.

Mother of the victim has registered a complaint that Ashok, her tenant, was trying to rape her seven-year-old daughter when she had gone out to work yesterday.

The complainant, resident of Dayal Nagar, said the accused fled the scene after she raised an alarm.

A case was later registered by the police.
