Youth booked for raping minor

A 24-year-old youth has been booked for allegedly raping a minor at Sounda village here, police said today.

Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Sounda village, lured the 9-year-old girl to a secluded place on October 10 and raped her, they said.

The accused fled the spot when relatives of the victim reached there in search of the girl, police said, adding, an effort to nab Singh is on.
