Youth drowns in sea

A youth drowned in the sea near

here while he had gone on a picnic with two other friends, police said today.

The deceased, identified as Omkar Pawar (23) had gone for picnic in Kashid near here along with his two friends, drowned while taking bath in the sea yesterday, officer at the district police control room said.

Pawar was carried away by strong waves while the other two were somehow saved by people onboard on a boat, police said.

Youth's body was recovered and sent for postmortem while two others were admitted at the civil hospital here, they added. All the three boys belonged to Gondavale village in Satara district.
