A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly using a fake school certificate to obtain passport, police said today.
Acting on a complaint from Madurai Regional Passport Officer Maneeswararaja, police arrested M Tameen Ansari, a resident of the district last evening.
He was produced before Judicial Magistrate C Mohan Ram at Muthukulathur, who remanded him to judicial custody.
Police said they were also on the lookout for one M Hansius Nuslin, who provided fake birth certificate to the passport office.
