Youth held for possessing drugs

A youth carrying 200 grams of smack, worth around Rs 20 lakh in the international market, has been arrested in Biora town in the district, police said today.

"The youth identified as Razzaq Ali alias Raju was arrested yesterday from Matamand area following a tip-off," Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) J P Mishra told reporters.

He was involved in the drug trade for quite sometime and used to sell the narcotics after smuggling it from Rajasthan.

"As per the information available, three more Rajasthan-based persons are involved in the drug trade and a police team will go to the neighbouring state soon," Mishra said.
 

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against Raju in this regard, he added.
