A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the rape of a minor girl here, police said on Wednesday.
SHO of Naraini police station Girindra Singh on Wednesday said, "The rape of a 16-year-old girl took place on Monday. The girl had gone to an agricultural field along with her parents. However, due to the hot weather, the parents returned to their home while the girl stayed back there. At that time, the son of the (woman) village pradhan flashed a country-made pistol, threatened her and raped her."
On the complaint lodged by the girl's family, a case was registered against the accused who has been arrested, the SHO said.
The girl has been sent for a medical examination and the incident is being probed, he added.
