Youth shot dead while on night walk

A 19-year-old youth was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in outer Delhi's Alipur area, police said today.

The youth, identified as Sumit, was shot dead while going on a night walk after dinner last night, said a police officer.

Sumit's family members said that two men on a bike shot him. Alarmed by the gun fire they rushed out and saw him lying on the road with a bullet injury on his chest, the officer said.

He was rushed to Harishchandra Hospital where he succumbed to the gun shot.

Investigation has been undertaken after registration of a case of murder but no arrest has been made so far, added the officer.
