Youth shot in Rupnagar

A 23-year-old man was seriously injured when three motorcycle-borne miscreants fired at him in Punjab's Rupnagar district on Monday, police said.

Rohit Kumar was sitting at his grocery store in Ganguwal village near Ananadpur Sahib town when the unidentified assailants fired at him and fled the spot. Rohit, who suffered bullet injuries in his abdomen and thighs, has been admitted to a hospital in Chandigarh, a police officer said.

Anandpur Sahib Station House Officer Satish Kumar said it could be a case of personal enmity.
