A two-minute-long trailer of 'Desert Hunt', highlighting the theme of the thriller novel in English penned by K S R Menon, an expatriate Indian author, has been launched to popularise the book.
The trailer, which was formally launched by Shobha Thampi, President of Ernakulam Women's Association here last week, has been uploaded on Youtube, Menon said, adding, this was a new initiative in the state.
The association organises, among other things, book reading sessions and also runs a library.

"The trailer has highlighted the theme of the book very well. The novel dealing with terrorism is a gripping narrative and reminds one of the top names in the thriller genre," Shobha Thampi said.
"The idea of launching a book trailer to attract viewers and readers as the book is yet to catch up with Indian authors, particularly from Kerala. The trailer also underscores the international potential of the book,' Menon, who has been a journalist in Dubai for more than 15 years, said.
The thriller based in Dubai was recently released by central Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor and is also displayed at the two week long 19th DC International Book Fair and Cultural Fest here.
"The book has a lot of action including a suicide bombing and a yacht chase and what is more it has an Arab agent chasing the terrorists with Indian and American help, which has all been highlighted in the trailer," Menon said.
The fast paced narrative describes a series of gripping events that pans out in Dubai, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.
