Zinc futures rise 0.36% on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking gains in base metals overseas and better domestic demand, zinc futures today edged up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 194.20 per kg as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month moved up by 70 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 194.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 369 lots.

The metal for delivery in March rose by 60 paise, or 0.31 per cent to trade at Rs 194.35 per kg in a business volume of six lots.

Marketmen said apart from improved demand in the domestic spot market, a firming trend in select base metals overseas, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
