Better domestic demand also influenced prices

Zinc rises by 0.4% on overseas cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking gains in base metals overseas and better domestic demand, zinc futures today edged up by 0.38% to Rs 105.30 per kg as speculators strengthened positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January next year moved up by 40 paise, or 0.38% to Rs 105.30 per kg in a business turnover of five lots.

The metal for delivery in December too gained 35 paise, or 0.34% to Rs 104.25 per kg in a business volume of 278 lots.

Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market amid a firming trend in the base metals pack overseas, mainly supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade here.
