Prices of zinc and lead were down by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today on reduced offtake by industrial units amidst weak global trend.
Marketmen said sentiment turned bearish after zinc fell from the highest since February last year as some investors judged the recent rally as excessive, spurring selling.
Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months retreated by 0.6 per cent, the most since June 24, to USD 2,204 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
