India grabs maximum share of Ford Foundation's donations

The funding was for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka but an analysis shows between 2012 and 2014, India received the maximum funds

The Ford Foundation set up an office in Delhi in 1952 to fund various organisations, including some government departments, working on issues related to human rights, freedom of expression, gender, sexuality and reproductive justice, democratic and accountable government. The funding was for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, but an analysis shows between 2012 and 2014, India received the maximum funds. The Ford Foundation donations increased three times in 2013 as compared to 2012. But it again fell significantly in 2014, the year India elected its new government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, the government has put the Ford Foundation under the scanner for its donations in India. Here's a look at the top three Ford Foundation donations in the South Asia region from 2012 to 2014:
