Rupee weakens by over 1%

Since the start of this month the rupee has weakened by about one per cent. The weakness in the rupee has been due to a fall in equities and foreign institutional investors (FIIs) pulling out of India. When it comes to debt investments by FIIs, they have emerged as net sellers this month after a gap of one year.
