James B Stewart has been a reporter and business columnist for The New York Times since 2011. He writes about business and business-adjacent topics, focusing on in-depth narrative features and profiles. He has won a Pulitzer Prize, a George Polk award, and two Gerald Loeb awards. He is also the author of 11 books. Before joining the NYT, he was a reporter, editor, and columnist for The Wall Street Journal. He was the Bloomberg professor of business journalism at Columbia University for many years and is now a professor emeritus at the school.
