South Africa vs Netherlands Highlights, ICC World Cup 2023: The Dutch caused a big upset as they beat South Africa by 38 runs to register their first-ever World Cup win against a Test playing nation

In today's ICC World Cup 2023 match ( Tuesday, October 17) at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, the Netherlands created history as they beat South Africa by 38 runs to earn their first-ever win against a Test-playing nation in ODI World Cup history. The Dutch bowlers were on the mark as they bowled out the opposition for 207. They had taken nine wickets for 166 only, but Keshav Maharaj (40) top-scored and took the match to the last over for the Proteas. For the Dutch, all the bowlers put up their hands and Roelof van der Merwe, Logan van Beek, and Paul van Meekeren picked 3, 2, and 2 wickets respectively. Earlier in the day, Dutch skipper Scott Edwards scored an unbeaten 78 of just 69 balls and helped by late-order batters Roelof van der Merwe (29 off 19 ) and Aryan Dutt (23* off 9) as the Dutch posted 245/8 in their quota of 43 overs. The match started late due to rain and was reduced to 43 overs per side.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma had won the toss and decided to bowl first against the Netherlands. Gerald Coetzee, who missed out in Lucknow is back for the South African side on pace-friendly wicket while Logan van Beek is fit and is back in the Dutch playing 11 in place of Ryan Klein.
