The meeting came on a day Gandhi got a huge relief from the Supreme Court after it stayed his conviction in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his Modi surname remark and paved the way for his reinstatement as a member of the Lok Sabha. "Truth always triumphs, if not today then tomorrow or the day after," says Rahul Gandhi after SC relief in defamation case. "For disqualifying Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, they took just 24 hours, let us see how much time is taken to reinstate him", said Cong chief Mallikarjun Kharge on SC stay on Rahul Gandhi's conviction in defamation case.
