Electric two-wheeler sales get recharged as subsidy cut pain eases

Average daily sales in the first 17 days of July double to 1,702 units from 852 units during the same period in June

In a promising development for the country’s electric vehicles (EV) industry, the adverse effects of the cut in subsidy provided under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) scheme seem to be receding. The average daily sales of electric two-wheelers (e2W) have increased around 100 per cent in the first 17 days of July over the same period last month.
