Large currency speculators in the Euro futures market turned net long, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Euro futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 13090 contracts in the data reported through March 11, 2025. This was a weekly increase of 10106 net long contracts.

At 12:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, advanced 267 points or 0.36% to 74,093.24. The Nifty 50 index added 87.05 points or 0.39% to 22,484.25.

In a circular released on 13 March 2025, the NSE clarified that orders initiated by trading members on behalf of clients through IVR systems, where confirmation is obtained by pressing a predefined number, will not be considered "legally verifiable records" of order placement.

US dollar index speculators increased net long position to a three-week high, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 16835 contracts in the data reported through March 11, 2025, showing a rise of 2097 net long contracts compared to the previous week.

Wholesale price inflation in India marginally rose to 2.38 per cent in February due to expensive manufactured food items like vegetables oil and beverages, government data released on Monday showed. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation was 2.31 per cent in January. It was 0.2 per cent in February 2024. The month over month change in WPI for the month of February stood at 0.06% as compared to January, 2025. Positive rate of inflation in February, 2025 is primarily due to the increase in prices of manufacture of food products, food articles, other manufacturing, non-food articles and manufacture of textiles, etc, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
