New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari presided over the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (MOWR) and Chief Ministers of six states on Lakhwar Dam Project in the national capital on Tuesday. The six states that inked the MoU include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Speaking at the event, Gadkari said, "Agreement has been signed between six states. This is beneficial for these states. In the duration from January to May, these states faced water shortage. The water storage of Yamuna will rise 65% due to this project. Its initial benefit would be that when Uttarakhand would produce electricity its water would be provided to these states."
