Congress leader Manju Nath Reddy elected as Bengaluru Mayor, Politicos react

Bengaluru, Sep 11 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Friday after Congress leader BN Manjunath Reddy was elected as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Mayor and Hemalatha Gopalaiah the Deputy Mayor. Reddy secured 131 votes against 128 votes to the losing candidate in the BBMP polls. The Congress and the JD(S) came together to form the council even after BJP grabbed the majority of council seats in the 22 August BBMP elections. However, the final decision on the election of mayor and deputy mayor depends on Karnataka High Court's decision over the petition challenging Section 7 and 10 that allows MLAs, MLCs and parliamentarians to vote for the election of mayor and deputy mayor in the city.
