Gebanshah Baba Dargah: Beacon of communal harmony in Rajkot

Rajkot (Gujarat), Aug 27 (ANI): Every Thursday the strong beats of drums serve as an invitation to hundreds of devotees to the Dargah of Gebanshah Baba. Though thronged by people on all days, one can witness a completely different atmosphere on Thurdays, when the dargah remain packed with devotees from different faiths coming from faraway places just to have the blessings of the revered saint. They offer the holy chadder at the shrine and a sacrament of coconut and Jaggery. It is also believed that whosoever bows down his head before the shrine of revered saint gets his wishes fulfilled. For the last 200 years, the shrine is visited by the people of all ages and communities, making it a symbol of religious unification.
