In a first, Tamil Nadu sets up breastfeeding rooms in public places

Chennai, Aug 04 (ANI): In some good news for women, Tamil Nadu inaugurated over 300 breastfeeding rooms in public spots across the province. The initiative syncs with World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7). The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus in the state's capital is one such place where the government has set up a separate enclosure for lactating mothers. The initiative has brought smiles to the faces of breastfeeding mothers. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had last month announced the setting up of exclusive rooms for lactating mothers, keeping in mind the difficulties faced by them at public places.
