Chennai, Nov 06 (ANI): K. Prithika Yashini shall soon become India's first transgender Sub Inspector of Police as the Madras High Court directed the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) to appoint her to the post. Expressing her delight with the High Court's verdict, Yashini said that she would now be able to fulfill her dream of becoming a police officer. The court has also directed the recruitment board to make changes to draw transgenders to the state police force. Born and brought up as a boy named Pradeep Kumar, the young Computer Applications graduate turned into Prithika after a sex change surgery. Her application was first rejected as the state police recruitment board doesn't have a third gender category.
