Karnataka JD(S) legislator, son booked for protesting tests of journalists

Mandya (Karnataka), Apr 25 (ANI): Karnataka MLC from Janata Dal (Secular), KT Srikantegowda, and his son among others have been booked for staging protesting against COVID-19 tests organised at Ambedkar Bhavan for journalists in Mandya. While talking about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Mandya, Doctor MV Venkatesh, said, "As per order by Health Department, we were conducting health test of journalists in Mandya, when MLC KT Srikantegowda of JD(S) and locals protested against it. Test of 15 journalists was conducted yesterday and today we did 27 tests." However, later police took accused into the custody. "We have got a written complaint by journalist association about some local residents protesting against the test organised at Ambedkar Bhavan, we will investigate the matter and take action accordingly," Deputy Commissioner further said.
