IT firm Wipro has cautioned that escalations in tariffs and trade policies of "certain countries with large economies", and changes in US immigration laws may negatively hit its revenues and business.
In its annual report for FY25, Wipro noted that ongoing global trade tensions and evolving regulatory environments pose significant risks to its operations, particularly as the company relies heavily on international markets for growth.
"Our revenues are highly dependent on clients primarily located in the Americas (including the US) and Europe, as well as on clients concentrated in certain industries; therefore, an economic slowdown or factors that affect the economic health of the US, Europe or these industries would adversely affect our business," Wipro said.
The USD 280 billion company, which derives 62.3 per cent of its revenue from US clients, and 27 per cent from Europe, acknowledged its vulnerability to economic and policy shifts in these regions.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GNFC) on Friday reported a 62 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 211 crore for the March quarter.
Its net profit stood at Rs 130 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income fell to Rs 2,177 crore during the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year from Rs 2,218 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year.
During the 2024-25 fiscal year, GNFC's net profit increased to Rs 597 crore from Rs 497 crore in the preceding year.
Total income declined to Rs 8,393 crore last fiscal year from Rs 8,399 crore in the 2023-24 financial year.
Commenting on the results, T Natarajan, Managing Director of GNFC, said, "The improved results are attributable to improved volumes apart from lower feed and fuel prices helping margin improvement. At Dahej complex, the shutdown period impacted the sales volumes."

The Supreme Court on Friday underlined the need for dedicated courts for NIA cases while calling for a "judicial audit" of laws enacted by the Centre and the prospective ones by the states.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh said the cases entrusted to the NIA were of heinous cases, having pan India ramifications.
The top court said each such case contained hundreds of witnesses and the trial did not progress with the required pace as the presiding officers of the court were busy with other cases.
"In the absence of judicial audit of cases likely to be generated with the enactment of law, the trial of such cases had brought burden on the court," the bench said.
The top court further said the only appropriate course meant setting up special courts where trial of cases only related to special statutes could be carried out with a day-to-day hearing.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday presented a Rs 40,187 crore-budget for the megapolis.
Infrastructure spends across projects have been pegged at Rs 35,151 crore or 87 per cent of the overall expenditure, as per an official statement. The revenues have been estimated at Rs 36,939 crore, and the body chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will be borrowing Rs 22,000 crore.
This will result in a budget deficit of Rs 3,249 crore, which the body plans to bridge through land sales, issuance of bonds, financial assistance from the government, and loans from financial institutions, the statement said.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.
