New Delhi, Apr 06 (ANI): Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on April 06 informed about the current status of COVID-19 cases in the country and Centre and state governments preparations over it. He said that 291 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 4067 cases have been recorded till yet in which 1445 cases are from Tablighi Jamaat attendees. "693 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 4067 in India out of which 1445 cases are related to Jablighi Jamaat. 76 per cent cases have been reported in males and 24 per cent in females," he said.

With a majority of Indian professional actively seeking opportunities to upskill, the country has emerged as the global leader in technological adaptation, according to a report.
More than 70 per cent of Indian professionals are actively seeking opportunities to upskill, said the report released by the Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC).
The report highlights the dynamic nature of India's job market, where artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation are becoming integral.
"While global trust in governments to support upskilling remains low at 20 per cent, Indian respondents (31 per cent) and those in Saudi Arabia (35 per cent) demonstrated significantly higher confidence in their governments.
"In contrast, countries like the USA (15 per cent) and UK (12 per cent) reported markedly lower trust levels. Indian respondents also expressed 49 per cent trust in businesses, further emphasizing the private sector's role in workforce development,"

Former Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning, his family said.
The 92-year-old veteran politician was ailing for quite some time, a family source said.
"S M Krishna is no more. He breathed his last at 2:45 am at his residence. Mortal remains are likely to be taken to Maddur today," the source said.
Born in Somanahalli in Karnataka's Mandya district on May 1, 1932, Krishna also served as the External Affairs Minister and the Governor of Maharashtra.
After a long stint in the Congress, Krishna joined the BJP towards the fag end of his political career.
