Bangladeshis welcome 'New Year'

Dhaka, April 14 (ANI): Thousands of Bangladeshis, old and young alike, clad in colourful clothes, thronged the streets of Dhaka to celebrate 'Poila Baisakh' or Bengali New Year on Tuesday. 'Poila Baisakh' celebrations have become an integral part of Bengali culture. It marks the first day of Bengali calendar. People danced to drum beats as they reveled in the celebrations. They carried festoon, replicas of birds and animals and colourful masks in the procession.
