Man kills wife for 'honour' in Karachi

Karachi, Dec 03 (ANI): A woman, mother of a child, was killed in a brazen daylight shooting by husband who said he committed the crime 'to save his honour', in Pakistan's city of Karachi, police said. The woman, in her twenties, was shot dead in the congested downtown area of Saddar in the southern district of the city. Police chased and arrested the man while he tried to flee the scene in a rickshaw. Mohammad Imran, accused of murder, said from the lock up in police station that his wife had eloped with a man which brought considerable shame to him and others in the family. He said his wife and her paramour were living together for nine months after she left him. She had filed a case of divorce with the court. Station House Officer of Saddar police station, Malik Hayat said the child was injured by falling off the rickshaw at the time of attack but his condition was stable.
